Last week at school, we were celebrating something, and it was called SAMOAN LANGUAGE WEEK!!, We were celebrating it for the whole week “Of course” by wearing our traditional clothing, and playing activities like match the Samoan words to the picture, and etc.
On Tuesday we also did a flag raising, It is when we raise the Samoan flag on the poll. I was so proud watching the Samoan flag getting raised on the poll where everyone can see it.
Then on Friday our group the pacifika perls did a performance, our performance was so good and I LOVED ITTT! because after we performed we ate some traditional food that some of the parents brang. I think that samoan language week is so important because you’re celebrating someones culture and you never know you might learn something from it.
As a Proud Samoan I really loved celebrating my culture with my friends and my school. Getting to know that some people learnt something made me proud even tho I learnt something too.
